24 hours a day sufficient or not !!!

In response to Azhaghu Roopesh M's question on this note : Ask your queries here And also you can ask your any query on that note. I again assure you that you'll get the best solution by the Brilliant members.

Ques :- Are you \(24\) hours a day sufficient for me in a day ?

Reply :- Yeah, off course.

Everyone ever in existence, no matter he/she has created the history or not, no matter how successful he/she is, has got 24 hours a day. But still some people do a lot of stuffs in life or you can say are very successful, on the other side some people just exist, don't live their life, think that they are weak and incapable to do anything, then what's the thing that makes the difference ? The thing is "How you utilize that time".

Imagine what will be left, if you remove all the empty spaces from this universe. I think the whole universe will be approx of the same size as a football. Same is the case with time management, if you remove all the little time wastes out of your routine, you will be left with a lot of time that you can use in some constructive purposes.

I had a question in my mind that what is life ? I tried to answer it mathematically, that life is just a time duration between birth and death. Then another question arose in my mind that what is that thing which determines the quality/standard of the life ? I came out to be an awesome reply which is also some kind of mathematical that life is a time duration, so if I improve the quality/standard of this time, then obviously life's standard will be raised. Then I took a specific time unit of \(1\) day on which I should focus to settle down everything. And that can be done if you follow a very constructive routine everyday.

So as a whole, your daily routine determines the standard of your life, just raise it and everything will be improved.

Some things that I want to suggest that you should include in your routine :

\[\large \text{1. Health (the most important from my point of view)}\]

There are 3 components of health that I'm listing down :

a. Physical component : To maintain this component of health, you need to exercise daily. I don't mean to exercise that you've to work out very hard like an athlete or sportsperson. I mean is just to do some simple exercise daily that you can say Yoga, walking, running, or you can play any outdoor sports that you like to play. This will boost up your self-confidence and you'll find several positive changes in your life with regards to self-confidence, physical health, sickness, lazy, getting bored.

Believe me guys ! It will make you ROCK in the life.

b.) Mental component : I strongly believe that whatever you're is only because of your mind. Exercising your mind is very very necessary to achieve your goals in life, to make you feel awesome through various stages of the life.

c.) Spiritual component : I've my own reflections towards this component. Spirituality doesn't mean leaving the materialistic world and just pay your full attention in the God, MOKSH etc.

It is possible that a person who has left the materialistic world and still he/she is not spiritual at all. And also it's possible that a person living in the materialistic world is obsessed with great spirituality.

\[\large \text{REMINDER (can keep you always on the track)}\]

Ques.:- What is the greatest factor that helps me to manage everything and keeps me on the track.

Reply :- I name this process in my terms as : REMINDER.

Everyday after my dinner about 8 O'Clock in the evening, I go to take tea at the shop which is about 800m away from my the place where I stay. In the meanwhile time, I talk to myself for about an hour. I ask myself some questions :

"Am I going right ?"

"Am I fulfilling all my responsibilities ?"

"What I've done today for my dreams?"

"Is there any such thing that I need to change/accept/leave ?"

Some such questions which will reveal my reality, and the best thing about this whole procedure is that :

\(\bullet\) no one can lie to these questions when asked to self, by self and the audience is also only self , and

\(\bullet\) can't hide anything that you're not doing well but you need to , and

\(\bullet\)you're what you really are , and

\(\bullet\) you're always true to yourself at this time.

\[\text{Guys ! Go ahead, take a step and}\] \[\text{improve the standard of your life.}\] \[\text{Limits are never reached.}\] \[\text{Just do it.}\]

With Love

For those who are confused whether to join coaching institute or give time to self-study, I've some points to mention which may help you to take a better, clear & doubtless decision :

\(\bullet\) If you've set your mind to prepare yourself for high level examinations like JEE_Advanced, or national or international Olympiads and be at the top there, then I think all of you agree with the fact that Schools ain't a right place for you, then I ask you if it's so ," why do you go to school" ? Tell me a single reason that you need to go to the school.

\(\bullet\) If you think that you needn't to go the school, then just take non-attending from your school, and then prepare yourself for your dream to top the highly reputed examinations.

\(\bullet\) There exists the possibility that many of you will say that your school doesn't allow non-attending system. But at this time, don't forget that exceptions are everywhere and you can be the one. If you go to your class in-charge or Principal of the school, and then share your issues, your dreams, then all your problems can be solved.

\(\bullet\) I know that all of you agree with this fact also that Brilliant has played, is and will be playing a crucial role in your preparations of several examinations, in upgrading your intellectuality and problem solving skills, so have your ever thought why it's so ??? Why Brilliant is a boon for you ??? The reason is simple that here you find the persons with great intellectuality, great problem solving skills, persons with clear, deep knowledge of the notions. Here you get an opportunity to discuss, to share your problems, to give solutions to others' problems.

So my dear friends ! Same place is a coaching academy. You will find a lot of people there which will help you enhancing your level of thinking, skills, concepts, and many other stuffs. Your faculties, your classmates will also act as a boon and great source of knowledge and inspiration for you. Don't make it a point in your mind that you'll waste your time in coaching institutes. At coaching institutes, you'll get a chance to check your level at which you're standing through various tests ,analysis, class performances.

One another great factor which will make you join the coaching institute is that you will go through the complete syllabus continuously in a flow, and you'll be prepared through the pattern which you've to face during your examinations for eg. solving problems in a time limit, you'll get to know a lot of different and elegant approaches there.

\(\bullet\) If you don't join an institute, there is a possibility that you'll waste a lot of your precious time in nothing. You may feel inferior or not enough confident at the end of the year due to many things which you missed because of not joining the institute.

If anyone of you have some points you want to get clarified, or some doubts to be clear, you can ask me here, I would love to answer your queries.

Finally My Recommendation : Leave the school, take non-attending from school, join a good coaching institute, Give your full time to the self-study and the coaching institute stuffs. I think on doing so, you'll reach the BEST you could.

Thanks a lot. ! Sandeep Bhardwaj · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Sandeep Bhardwaj Yes sir ! You are right. Schools are a waste of time in my state. I am also a non-attending student 😊 Prashant Kr · 1 year, 6 months ago

@Sandeep Bhardwaj I couldn't understand what you meant by non-attending. Did you mean open schooling or correspondence courses? Krishna Ar · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Krishna Ar I mean to say by "non-attending" is that your school will show your attendance and other records regarding you as a student of their school. But you won't go to the school and you will give time to the self-study and the coaching institute. You will directly give exams of CBSE or whatever your Board is, as a Regular student of your school. Sandeep Bhardwaj · 1 year, 7 months ago

Thanks for this wonderful note. (I've reshared it and its been quite long since I've reshared one!)

Note: Beware, don't read if you aren't prepared for a long rant.

I'd like to tell you about something. My parents have enrolled me in a coaching institute (forcibly >:o, i have never taken coaching for anything in my life till now--- i did have a short stint at an institute, but quit early because the place was too far) I had the first class today. :/ The fact that it will eat up my time during the normal says when school would also function worries me. I have to school for ~8hrs a day (8-4). This program is from 5.15-8.50 pm thrice a week. Though there are 4 days without this tight schedule and I do have the liberty of taking leave/ even quitting (worst case), I am in a fix about my schedule. I have absolutely no time to practice the exercises (mental-maybe, physical- no chance) mentioned by you! I have ne'er come out so openly, but felt doing so today after reading your note. Apart from this (entrance exams) I am also targeting the Intl Olympiads( which require extensive, separate prep) and also have additional subjects. I'm totally dazed. To survive the competition and emerge successful, I have to do something. Your ideas/ tips will be greatly appreciated.

@Krishna Ar Sorry if you don't like me speaking about this here but I had the same situation when I passed 10th , many of my friends said that coachings are required for class 11 th and 12 th. I never quite agreed with them thinking science in 11 th, 12 th would never be hard, but till then I got to know about engineering entrance examination of colledges, and my parents suggested me to join coaching institute , I was a person who never knew how to study with schedule, till 10 th enjoy whole year study at last for the exams, after lot's of discussions I decided to atleast try what it feels like, I thought if I don't like it I will leave it in a month.

But seriously it helped me, since my studies became organized and I began catching up things much faster than before, I had a similar timings of my coaching 4-7 and three days a week.

In holiday's it was fun but then as the school started problems for me began, I was beginning to get tired ever more than before. I took some serious decisions from there on, firstly I started ignoring everything in school( partly due to the reason that we were taught same things but at extremely low level in school), secondly I dropped the idea of preparing for RMO( well there were reasons for that I couldnt manage the time for preparing for it), started taking leaves in school. And concentrated on my IIT-JEE preparation.

And these things worked for me, I got now enough time to keep my mind free and prepare freely , having only one aim helps a lot if one is a person like me who can't work 24 hours a day.

As of now I am happy with my preparations and what I learnt in the subjects I was interested fron my childhood.

I am not suggesting that you follow this, I was just sharing my experience, Sorry again if you don't like me commenting about this. Ronak Agarwal · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Ronak Agarwal Hey, first of all I think we both are/were in the same boat!! Haha! I too am in a similar situation and I'm only apprehensive about what will happen after school. Maybe your one -aim idea is good and I should also take decisions to manage time. (but I have been studying hard for IBO, and i don't want to let it go and I have an ocsc also this yr:/) I guess there are a lot of people who even do schooling by correspondence but my parents dont seem to be ok with it. I am wondering how you get time for Brilliant despite your tight schedule (maybe you dont have long school or you study fast or you come online after 7 :P ). Anyway, I dont think there is any need for you to say sorry at all! I just wanted people's advice and I'm glad I had yours. Thanks. Krishna Ar · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Krishna Ar Though two years junior to you,I even feel that the coaching institutions have a positive impact on various national and international level exams.Even my parents(partly my decision too) had taken the initiative of sending me too FIITJEE centre for advanced studies. The timings would be 2 days a week ~4 hrs each.So I too am facing a similar time constraint...I cannot choose which option would be better for me whether joining a coaching institute or finding time for myself.Any tips?@Sandeep Bhardwaj sir? @Anik Mandal Let me tell you what time constraint is (Pls don't take it in the wrong way !)

The place where I used to go this year , the timings were :

3:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Monday , Wednesday , Friday and Sunday .

5:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesdays .

Beat that ! Azhaghu Roopesh M · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Azhaghu Roopesh M Lucky you! I wish there were such schools back in south too. :( Krishna Ar · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Krishna Ar Haha , you misunderstood me . Actually it's my fault for not being more specific.

The 12:30 exemption is only for Class XI and Class XII students as they have to attend their classes and stuff . For rest of the school , it's till 2:00 pm . Azhaghu Roopesh M · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Azhaghu Roopesh M Still, I wish I had that exemption. Then I wouldnt worry about the coaching itself at all. I have to school for 3.5 more hours. Just imagine the time waste. Krishna Ar · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Krishna Ar Rant ? Really ? Why do you feel so ?

You yourself are a great inspiration for people of your age group (@Anik Mandal , you agree with me right ?) .

You'll get used to the timings :) I am not the correct person to comment about coaching as I never had the proper coaching (but right now I have a great teacher in @Sandeep Bhardwaj sir) and have made some great friends here on B'ant and I hope you'll make some too at your coaching institute :) .

But all I can say is join the Coaching Institute that will surely help you (don't make the same mistake as I did) and of course , these hardships will certainly pay off when you'll join the Indian Team for IMO .

@Azhaghu Roopesh M I am not aiming at IMO at all because I know I can never make it to the team. I am not an inspiration ( an inspiration is someone who has achieved something SUBSTANTIAL in his/her life). No more discussions on this part. By no proper coaching, I dont understand what you're trying to hint at. (because you did go to coaching) There are very less coaching institutes for medical and no one even offers programs for integrated. People (my parents , here) just go by the name/brand. They don't (unfortunately) look at the teaching/ results of that particular branch. I am saying this because I wasnt quite happy with their teaching yesterday and quitting anytime soon will be too pre-mature and will also earn me the wrath of my parents (they believe one can't achieve success without coaching, :3 )I guess I will have to wait till the end of vacations to take a call on the future. I hope the future isn't bleak (Meh, now this is now sounding like a one sided lament, again) Krishna Ar · 1 year, 7 months ago

@Krishna Ar I was bit lucky in that aspect(aspect of coaching institute), teachers were good as opposed to teachers in school, batch size was small proper attention was given to each and every student. @Sandeep Bhardwaj Sir I am in class 10 and I also aspire for going into one of the IITs, I love engineering. The problem is that there is no scope for leaving school because my parents wouldn't agree. I am going to FIITJEE since class 8. Can you suggest me something so that I can clear JEE and also various olympiads, I really love maths and physics. I don't get much time due to lots of homework in school for which they grade us and our CGPA depends on that(very silly procedure) so I don't get much time for self studies. Please tell me what to do and also tell me some books to prepare from in class 11 and 12. Kushagra Sahni · 9 months, 1 week ago
