# A question for the staff about rating...

Before the rating algorithm was updates i gave a few wrong answers to a to combinatorics problem and my rating went down and I got demoted to Level 4.....A few days later I solved and wrote solutions for 2 unrated combinatorics problems and the very next day i found that they had received a level 5 rating.... So is there any chance that all the people who solve a problem before it is rated will get the points and ratings that they deserve???

Your ratings are only updated at the point when you submit an answer. What happens subsequently has no effect on your rating.

But if the problem is unrated then there's no changes in the rating right???Even if the problem gets rated after one solves it???

If the problem is unrated, your rating will not change whether you get it correct or wrong.

As mentioned, subsequent events do not matter.

In other words, is it better to solve only the rated questions?
