## Hi Every $\displaystyle \sum_{n=1}^{\infty} \dfrac{1}{n(n+1)}$

Welcome back! Here comes the third edition, the April Newsletter. The name originally came from Aprilis, meaning 'to open'. In April, small animals that were hibernating usually come out and the birds fly back northward to settle, bees and butterflies begin to gather nectar. Also known as the Mathematics Awareness Month, what it boasts of the most, is it's first day, the April Fool's Day.

### New and Exciting Features

$\bullet$ Over the month, Sir Lin has started a Party. Make sure you don't miss it.

$\bullet$ Want a free Brilliant T-shirt? Get $\displaystyle 10/10$ problems right in this set.

$\bullet$ Have a go at all problems in the Troll King Contest. If you have already tried all problems, don't read this. If you already have, forget it.

### Challenging Problems

This month, if you were busy and couldn't muster time for Brilliant, no worries! You can have a go at the best of the problems which were posted over the month.

That's Plenty of Digits There, How Does This Relate to Pie, Practice Your Radicals!, Brilliant Games Quarter Quell 5, and Angle Bisectors were some of the easy problems which tricked Sharky and me.

Binary Operations, No Red Allowed, Trigonometric Series-Trinity, Crazy Inequalities-1, Just Subtract! Its easy! Isn't it?, and set Just a Little Twist are some of the tough challenging problems which were too hard for Robert.

### Special April Fools Section

troll

$\bullet$ As mentioned earlier, you can visit the Troll King Contest.

$\bullet$ If you can prove that there exists a prime $p \le 10^{100}$, that divides $\displaystyle 103040!-1$, you must as well like to participate in the $\displaystyle \mathfrak{JOMO}$ April Fools Contest.

$\bullet$ If you're unsure of an answer to a problem, enter the answer in the box, and Press $Ctrl+W$. This will not waste you a chance, and won't affect your ratings. Sorry, nothing available for MCQs.

### Some Other Random Stuff:

$\bullet$ Brilliant just welcomed some new moderators, including the likes of Alan Enrique Ontiveros Salazar, Ritwick Choudhary, Sir Michael Mendrin, Sir Sharky, etc. Brilliant's gonna be more Brilliant with them as mods!

$\bullet$ You can participate in the Open Proof Contest.

$\bullet$ You might like to see this, this and this for some great motivation by Sir Sandeep.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

• Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
• Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
• Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.

sir, i completed the set. do i get a free t-shirt, or is it just another april fools prank?

- 6 years, 3 months ago

The condition is to get 10 / 10, and not just "complete the set". Given that there are only 9 problems, you have been trolled (again).

Staff - 6 years, 3 months ago

I believe its (obviously) a prank.

Are you trying to troll again, Mr. Golechha, with the Ctrl + W? People who know keyboard shortcuts know that that closes ALL your tabs.

- 6 years, 3 months ago

Yes, he is one of the big trollers. And btw, it closes single tab on Chrome.

- 6 years, 3 months ago

Oh, right, I was using Ctrl+Shift+W.

We all are proud of Jamaicans who produced the fastest man on earth! They may also create the fastest mathematician in the world. So be proud being a part of Jamaica , Brilliant , this helpful world!

- 6 years, 3 months ago

Have you checked anyone from Jamaica in B'ant?

- 6 years, 3 months ago

Hey bro, we all are friends!

I think it is a pity. April Fools should be for a whole month, not a day.
