hi the area of the rectangle is 32 cm²

the area of wich one of the semi circles is 4²/2 pi= 8 pi

the area of the rectangle that is covered by only one semi circle will be called x

the one that is covered by both the semi circles is y and the one covered by no circle z

we can see clearly that 4x+2z+y=32

x+z=16-4pi

2x+y=8p

by solving the system we find the answer: y=16pi-32
