Discussion to add a cheat sheet for Math and Physics formulae

Hello everyone. Coming back to my favorite subjects after a long time is really enjoyable. But, where at one hand most of the formulas were right at my tongue tip, I still found myself using Google too often finding the forgotten laws. I think a more fruitful way would be to develop and post a cheat sheet on the website. This way we can quickly look up and probably memorize equations faster. What are your opinions?

Hello Junaid,

We are pretty sure you are not the only one for whom that is true. We are debating the best way to implement such a feature. Beyond just formulas and equations we are pondering a resource page that would also help with routine things such as what does $$|f(x)|$$ mean and basic notation, vocabulary etc... to avoid the problem of people understanding the concepts but not knowing the notation/definitions or not remembering the precise relationship. As you have pointed out google is always there but it is not that convenient and doesn't have everything you might need in one spot.

What do people think of a communally maintained resource page, where as you google things you post it so that other's who might wonder later can find it without googling? Other's could also edit, improve, or reorganize the things until it is correct and perfect. We think that is probably the most efficient way of getting something like that off the ground because it will more accurately build the resource you guy's actually need and many hands would make lighter work.

Hey Peter,

Thanks for the reply. I think the technique trainer that is introduced is really nice for a start. However, I would differ with the idea of a communally maintained resource page as it would be a heck of a task to cross check the validity of posts. Of course publicly requesting for resources can help with the direction of development, but the maintenance must be strictly centralized. Cheers.
