# Downvoting

I've seen this somewhat often recently and I thought I might want to say something about it. It's not nice to downvote questions and comments that seem obvious to you. For example, why did Adarsh Kumar get two downvotes in this thread? I think it's just mean...

I agree with this except for the fact that I don't quite believe that it's too common. I ask tons of questions that may seem dumb or are easily answered by many. Whether it's because I read it wrong or it is a topic that is not of my strong suit. People have to understand that not everyone here is an IMO contestant and that no matter how smart you may be, you don't know everything and are still learning.

And, moreover, there are some craps who down-vote every comment on a note or on a problem just for fun. Brilliant must award punishment for this.

- 3 years, 11 months ago

What's more important is that they have downvoted this comment too!!

- 3 years, 11 months ago

Yeah, it's kinda annoying… but it's in the spirit of troll, so I don't want brilliant to punish anyone

.... says the king of trolls xD

- 3 years, 11 months ago

Why is @Cody Johnson known as king of trolls?

- 3 years, 11 months ago

@Cody Johnson can answer it the best. BTW Have you visited nobash.com?

- 3 years, 11 months ago

Does that hold a clue to my question? To answer your question, no, but I will do now...

- 3 years, 11 months ago

I like how you can "award" punishment.

With all my respects but I remember a coment by Cody Johnson in a problem few time back where a child asked in a solution:

• How can I become as smart as you? Cody-(Definitely not by asking how can I become as smart as you)

You are not the adequate person to say what is rude or what is fair.

- 3 years, 11 months ago

Yeah, I saw that recently and thought it was mean, but there's no way to take it back… I'm sorry. :(

- 3 years, 11 months ago

Bingo! Totally agree with you, but you must also remember that no human is perfect. We have to give everyone his/her chances

Yeah,I didn't know any modular arithmetic back then.

- 3 years, 11 months ago

And now you're better, right?

- 3 years, 11 months ago

Yep!My NT level went from 3 to 4 because of modular arithmetic.
