Again out of curiousity, I am posting this note adressed to all my friends who are giving 12th Boards.

How's your maths paper and how much are you expecting.

Again one can discuss anything here.

Does anyone have I.P previous year question paper along with the solution(all sets). Can anyone send the link regarding the same?

- 3 years, 3 months ago

Can anyone post solution to $$\displaystyle\int \frac{x\cos x+\sin x \mathrm dx}{x(x+\sin x)}$$

- 3 years, 3 months ago

I know the answer to the problem with the minus sign in the numerator but not this one.

I have the answer as :

$\displaystyle I = \int { \frac { x\cos { x } -\sin { x } }{ x(x+\sin { x } ) } dx } = \int { \frac { (x\cos { x } +x)-(x+\sin { x } ) }{ x(x+\sin { x } ) } dx }$

$I = \ln { (1+\dfrac { \sin { x } }{ x } ) }$

Guys, can you please tell me your question paper codes? Not just the set number, but also the code, mine is 65/2/MT. I have been running into a lot of complaints about the exam wherever I turn, even in the newspaper, there were two separate articles about it. Please do reply.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

65/1/B

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Mine 65/1/A

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Hi

The code number was : 65/3/A .

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Here is the link to my paper: 65/2/MT

@Azhaghu Roopesh M @Siddhartha Srivastava @Ronak Agarwal @Mvs Saketh This paper must be the easiest one.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

You better not be kidding me ! That's too easy , really .

See the note that I posted , my paper was relatively lengthy . I'm sure you'll agree .

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Hi The paper we got in Delhi was different from this and for me it was not difficult but lengthy. got no time to revise I did some very stupid mistakes ( like 3 X 2=5 due to which i lost 1 mark ) expecting around 93-95.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Good to hear that atleast you fared well :)

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I didn't give the exam, but I've seen one set 65/2/2/F. One question was wrong in it. Q20 first part.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

What the hell dude ??? You've got to be kidding me !

Are you sure that the link you've provided is the paper of this year ? That one's toooooo simple .

- 3 years, 4 months ago

i agree with you. it is damn easy

- 3 years, 4 months ago

What is your paper code ?

- 3 years, 4 months ago

i dont remember exactly(i have given my paper to sir) but most probably it was 65/1/A

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I got it from Reddit. Some Indian student from abroad posted it. Could you post your paper?

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Here's the link . Check it out :)

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Yup! I'll do it today .

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I'm expecting above 90 and i think, paper wasn't tough but yes, bit lengthy.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Well, everyone can pretty much add 2-3 marks to their expected score. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/cbse-maths-exam-board-mulls-grace-marking/article7011799.ece?mstac=0

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Well , it seems you'll get 101/100 right ? :D

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I am expecting above 90. The sad part is i realized two of my mistakes yesterday only. The paper was kind of moderate but difficult as compared to last year's paper.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Disastrous. I don't know why but I skipped past the binary operations 6 marker. I literally didn't see it. And the sad thing is that it probably was the easiest 6 marker of the lot. Expecting anywhere between 85-90.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Yes, you'll definitely get 90

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Hmm, lets see.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Hmm , I think I'll get between 85-90 (yes , I had a definitely bad outing there)

But I'm just focusing on JEE Advanced right now , so I think it's no big deal .

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Definitely 88-90 ,Will only loss marks if there are any silly mistakes or calculation error..

Also On the difficulty of the paper, for us preparing for advance the paper was not that challenging but for the ones who have taken Maths as A fifth subject it was a disaster..

I remember a girl seeing a girl crying during the exam..

Roopesh Must have seen it too.We were in the same room..:3 :3

But All left is IP which is a very interesting Subject..What are you planning to Study???Ronak Agarwal And Roopesh..

Since I know only two of you having taken IP on Brilliant..

- 3 years, 4 months ago

No , I didn't see anyone crying . You see I had my own problems to deal with .

Would you mind writing the initial of the one who was crying ?

Seriously , YOU are going to study IP ?? I am just going to read the Chapters 1,2 and the last Chapter (was it 16th ?)

- 3 years, 4 months ago

The paper was very easy for me and almost all of my friends and classmates. I do not know why people are saying that it was tough. Strongly believe that there was some difference between my question paper and yours. My qp code is 65/2/MT. A lot of my friends finished almost 30 min before time. @Ronak Agarwal

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I am talking about CBSE board paper, people are calling that tough . Are you from CBSE board or some other one.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Oh my god! Of course I'm in CBSE!

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Raghav and I are from CBSE.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

The paper was easy but I had only 5 minutes left to revise. I think I got every question correct with all necessary steps but as I couldn't revise properly, might lose some marks in careless mistakes. Definitely 95+. Hoping for 98-100.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Just wanted to ask, are there people out here who are having Physical Education as their 5th subject ?

If yes, then please tell how are you preparing for the exam ?? I am just reading the chapters from the book, will it do ?

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I think, I will definitely score in between 95 and 99.

Not sure if I have done the question of getting expression 'A^2 -5A+4I' given matrix 'A' correctly, I think I have copied 'A' wrongly from the question paper.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

definitely above 90, only place where i might lose marks are the question which was asked to be solved by matrix method, Though i did solve it using matrices only by some how converting it into a matrix problem . what about you?

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I am expecting around 99/100 if everything I have written contained no silly mistakes well 1 marks I am losing because in a 6 marks question after completing solving at last I wrote the answer as $$2(\sqrt{2}+\sqrt{2})=2\sqrt{2}$$

Also is this your actual photo, you have as your profile pic.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Can you please tell question number, i do not remember ever writing $$4 ( {2}^{1/2})$$ in answer sheet,

Yes it is, My JEE main profile pic

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I had Set-1 Q21. Minimum value of OA+OB.

You look quite a big boy, your image doesn't look like that of an 17 year old boy.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

oh its fine then, either that question wasnt in my set or maybe it was in option,

Actually, it is camera effect, i am just 174cm long , shorter than you as well perhaps.

And, no, i did the Miscellanious exercices from CBSE before board exam and two to three integration questions were from there only, I do not know why some of these parents demand retest because their kid is an idiot . Infact, i finished it 40 mins ago and rechecked it twice, and they say time was low, infact some were telling me to ask for retest as well

- 3 years, 4 months ago

You think 174 cm is SHORT ??

Both of you are really my "Bhaiyyas" in terms of height . Btw I am 164 cm .

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I am 166 only, among my friends I am the shortest, way shorter than each one of them. I am joked too much about my height.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Yeah , I can understand . I am not made fun of , but then again , I am indeed among the shortest guys here .

- 3 years, 4 months ago

just tell them you are not short, just trying to minimise your surface area like a bubble

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Seriously no! Physics and I are not made for each other , so I guess I'll refrain from a Physics excuse !

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I am quite a short kid my height being 166 cm. You were very fast, although the paper was easy, I just finished 10 minutes before.

Also I was not commenting on height, I was commenting about age.

You gave the CBSE paper right.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

yes , CBSE Delhi region.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Was the paper really tough and questions were not from NCERT( I don't know since I have not read NCERT nor done a single exercise of it) , cause lot of people were complaining about the paper and demanding for retest, you can check the net about this.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

:o You haven't done NCERT at all? Then how did you... prepare all those LPP shit? (I know that you're a genius but still) and dont they teach NCERT at your school and dont you hafta do it o'er there?

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I haven't done any exercise of NCERT at all, but I did read what LPP is since I checked out the topics that were not in IIT-JEE Advanced but in CBSE boards, and LPP was one of them. But it was easy since the only thing I need to know is that maximum or minimum of a linear function bound by linear constraints occur at corner points of a feasible region.

Also teachers at school taught NCERT but I often skipped coming to school and at school also I did my coaching material, that interested me much more that the school stuff.

By not reading NCERT I meant not reading it's textual matter in detail, I did try to read topics that were yet not done in coaching some time before but I can't understand anything,( they have explained it quite badly), still I seriously didn't know about the question in NCERT since I have not solved even a single one of them.

Also I am not genius, since genius people are people like Sheshansh Agarwal( 3 time astronomy gold medalist cleared this year both INCHO , INPHO with a big, big margin), Bhavya Chaudhry( KVPY first rank, Juniour Astronomy gold medalist), and people like you ( your achievements are uncountable).

- 3 years, 4 months ago

XP (for the last part of the last line). I agree to everything else here. NCERT is a very bad teacher, almost as worse as my 10th grade physics teacher(who once said that Red has the minimum wavelength in the spectrum). You too are a genius ; you have a chance to represent India ;) (in fact, i aint one:- i dont even want to call those achievements as "achievements"). BTW can you answer this question : when and how did you learn calculus? Thanz

- 3 years, 4 months ago

This is an interesting question and it has an interesting answer, in class 8th or proabably 9th ( I can't correctly remember) , I learnt the formula for finding volume of a sphere and I was so awe struck at how it came, I thought for about 10 days for this and searched throughout the net for an simple answer, but it couldn't get simpler than calculus. This word at that time was strange for me( I thought it was somewhat related to some calculations hence the name calculus), and those weird integration signs I just can't understand.

First approach I thought to tackle this problem was to cut the sphere into thin discs of finite thickness and calculating the volume and reduce the thickness all the way to zero, this approach was good but I can't handle the summation though, also I can't work up the expression. Finally I decided to learn calculus from basics. But I didn't have any books for reading about this( well I had a handbook that consisted of many formulas I can't understand a single one of them ) hence I again searched up net, and then I found this :

Wikibooks- Calculus.

It nicely started with the concept of functions followed by limits, tangents, derivatives, rules of differentiation, rolle's theorom, lagrange mean value theorom ,application of derivatives in kinematics, and maxima and minima(first derivative and second derivative test) and everything was so interesting( yet I can't understand it clearly)

Finally I started with second part INTEGRATION, it started with riemann sums with a nice introduction and how area is calculated by small strips approach, then came the fundamental theorom of calculus Part 1, Part 2, and the rigorous proofs ( It took me a day to understand the proof of it.), and than proceded with techniques of integration like substitution,by parts, trignometric substitution, partial fractions , trignometric integrals, and all.

Finally I understood the proof of volume of sphere. But till that I have learnt a large lot in calculus, I believe that was in 9 th most probably.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Cool. Thanks :) Really nice & inspiring read! (Shocking too, 'cause you got exposed to this branch of math so early! :P)

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Calc is good , isn't it Bio guy ? :P

- 3 years, 4 months ago

I know not even a morsel of calculus, if what you, Ronak and other people know is equal to a ricecake.

- 3 years, 4 months ago

Now that you mention it ,it's been a long time since I've eaten one! And September 17 seems quite far away :(

- 3 years, 4 months ago

The paper was easy for all of us as we are preparing for jee but for students only studying for boards, It was a tough paper.

And yes, questions were not from NCERT.

how much are you expecting, if you assume whatever you attempted and believe that you have done correctly is actually correct.
