It's Back!

It's Back!

You might remember a set full of MCQ's that had proof-based solutions. Well, that was a demo. I wanted to see if a format like that could get popular. And it did get popular. I got a wonderful response from a lot of users.

You might remember that I didn't have a name for that set then. Now I do. I'm calling it "MCQ Is Not As Easy As 1-2-3". I think this name fits perfectly. Special thanks to Calvin Lin for coming up with it.

As I was throwing in different ideas for problems for this set, I realized something. It's not easy at all to come up with problems. But I'll try my best to keep this format up.

So, here you go. Go solve, comment on, post solutions to a bunch of problems I had a pleasure coming up with. Have fun!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.
