LaTeX Alignment Help

I am writing a multiple choice test using LaTeX, but I can't figure out how to make the answer choices align with each other on one line. (If it matters, I'm using \documentclass{exam})

I want to be able to draw a straight line through all of the answer choices for a certain letter. And if there isn't a command that does this, how do you manually set text on a page to begin a certain length from margin? For example, A) would be \(0\) in from the margin, B) would be \(2\) in from the margin, etc.

Thanks!

I'd suggest using the tabbing environment. Note that it 'hacks' around Latex's spacing, and so your text might overlap.

\begin{tabbing}
\hspace{2 cm} \= \hspace{2 cm} \= \hspace{2 cm} \= \hspace{2 cm} \
This is a question?\
A) Yes \> B)No \> C) I don't know \> D) who cares \

@Calvin Lin That's probably going to be what I need. I'll just copy that to the other questions. Thanks a lot! Trevor B. · 3 years, 6 months ago

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. Can you post an image of what you want the answers to look like? Silas Hundt Staff · 3 years, 6 months ago

@Silas Hundt For example, the B's are all aligned with each other no matter how long the answer choice is for A. I know this isn't LaTeX-ed but I have seen tests that have the LaTeX do that.

@Trevor B. Hmm, I don't understand how this is applicable to Brilliant since we only show one problem at a time. Silas Hundt Staff · 3 years, 6 months ago

@Silas Hundt Ah ha! I just realized that you are not talking about Brilliant—you are talking about LaTeX in general! Silas Hundt Staff · 3 years, 6 months ago
