This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

• Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
• Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
• Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.

There exists no algorithm to guarantee position in the Top 20 Leaderboard if there are more than 20 people vying for a spot.

Proof by contradiction: If there existed a certain set procedure that you could follow to guarantee a position in the Top 20 Leaderboard, and at least 21 people followed this procedure, then the procedure would not work for at least one of those people, and therefore it would not guarantee a position on the Top 20 Leaderboard (that is, unless the Leaderboard admits ties, in which case everyone would be tied for #1, which would be pretty funny.)

If two users solved the same number of problems in a particular week, then the user with the most lifetime points 'wins'.

On a more serious note, you could probably check out some of the books mentioned in this post.

As far as I know, you manage to be in the leaderboards when you get many points in a short time, through the questions of the weekly problem set.

*It would be more helpful if you let your question more clear.

I meant .. how can i increase my life points to guarantee that i am among the top 20 in the leader board and what can i do to solve the difficult problems in the weekly challenge and the olympiad problems

I think the only way to stay in the leaderboard of a certain category is doing its problem set. However, I have to tell you that I don't know the leaderboards system of classification.
