if $$f(x) = 0$$ and $$g(x) = 0$$ are two polynomial equation having some common root(s)

is/are also the root(s) of $$h(x) = af(x) + bg(x) = 0$$

How?

I think using simple distributive property we can unite both f(x) and g(x) as they both have common root as their factor

f(x) and g(x) is already given as 0(Zero)
