On Lifetime Points

How many ways can I get lifetime points. It seems that some people have an average of over 300 lifetime points per question solved. How is that possible if most level 5 problems are around 250?

Ah. Perhaps. I haven't checked out the practice problems. So practice problems give points but not counted as problems solved? Steven Zheng · 2 years, 8 months ago

Hi Steven, which people have you seen who have an average of over 300 lifetime points per question solved? That would be very unusual. My guess would be that they are doing lots of practice problems, which we are not counting in their "problem solved" count on their profiles. Suyeon Khim Staff · 2 years, 8 months ago

@Suyeon Khim When I do practice problems, each problem was counted towards my 'solved problems'. Steven Zheng · 2 years, 8 months ago

@Steven Zheng Can you post links to people who appear to have an average of over 300 lifetime points per question solved? We'll look into it. Suyeon Khim Staff · 2 years, 8 months ago

@Suyeon Khim https://brilliant.org/profile/kenneth-jv33rn/ He solved 2 problems and has 1000 points. I actually know him personally and he did not even remember solving any problems. So even he is not sure why. Steven Zheng · 2 years, 8 months ago

This is the most peculiar account. I noticed she is very active on other math sites "MATH STACK EXCHANGE". But how is she level 1 in everything with a 535 average per solved question? Steven Zheng · 2 years, 8 months ago

@Steven Zheng OK, thanks for these helpful examples. Likely a bug, we'll look into it. Suyeon Khim Staff · 2 years, 8 months ago
