# Percentile Ranking in Profile

Hi,

I have been looking at the profile and the percentile ranking / ELO graph in each area that you provide.

I think you should have a filter for not counting the people who have not even started on the area.

For example, in Calculus, I have a low level (Level 1) and hardly attempted any problems, yet my percentile is in eighties.

We only include those people who have achieved a rating in the corresponding topic.

The member ratings in topics like Calculus, Mechanics and E&M tend to be much lower than that of Algebra, in part because the material is covered at a much later stage. Staff · 1 year, 10 months ago

Thanks for the quick reply.

It still does not make sense. I have done hardly any Calculus, but still end up getting a percentile in the eighties. You need to have a minimum benchmark rating for being included in the percentiles. · 1 year, 10 months ago

I see that you have done 100+ Calculus problems thus far, of which 60 of them are in the practice section.

Your calculus rating is very close to level 2, and it is not surprising that that performance puts you in the 80th percentile. Staff · 1 year, 10 months ago

In that case, I stand corrected. I had not realised I had so completed many problems in Calculus · 1 year, 10 months ago
