# Scientific Notation

Scientific notation is written in two parts like this $$a \times 10^b$$ where:

• $$1 \leq a < 10$$
• $$b$$ is an integer.

For example: to put the number 1234567 in scientific notation, we would write $$1.234567 \times 10^6$$. Similarly, $$0.000000901 = 9.01 \times 10^{-7}$$.
