# [Feature Request] Separating mechanics from electricity, magnetism

i strongly believe that there r many students who want mechanics separated from electricity. maybe, Brilliant can make a separate column for magnetism and electrodynamics

As of now we are not generating enough physics problems to merit making them two seperate categories. Out of curiosity, is it because people are stronger in mechanics than E&M and vice versa? Would you like two different columns, because it would better allow you to get problems in your level for each discipline? Fill us in. Staff · 4 years, 7 months ago

yes, i think seperating them the two will be for everyone's good · 4 years, 7 months ago

I'd rather have chemistry instead of 2 separate physics · 4 years, 7 months ago

I personally don't think that they need to be separated, but I think I understand why some people might want that. One reason could be that at least in the education system here in Sweden, mechanics is (unfortunately) covered much more thorough than electricity and magnetism (I myself had to read up on electric flux to be able to do this week's problem), and I think that might be one reason. If you know more about one or the other, you have a better chance to do well in that category. But on the other hand, there is nothing bad in having to learn more physics to be able to do the problems. So personally, I don't think they should be separated, but I think I understand why some people might. · 4 years, 7 months ago

I agree with you. I'm italian and I'm 18 (this is my last high school's year) but I've not studied magnetism yet (it's part of the last months of school). I think you should separate categories in order to get more young people in doing some of those problems, otherwise they don't even try! · 4 years, 7 months ago
