This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

• Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
• Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
• Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.

Carrots

- 4 years, 6 months ago

Hi

- 4 years, 7 months ago

Congrats on making the "Who to follow"! I think I already mentioned that to you earlier. I don't know why I didn't make it but whatever. :D

- 5 years, 6 months ago

I reckon you should be definitely on the Who to Follow list for Math.

- 5 years, 6 months ago

Hey thanks! Also, how did you come up with the name "Sharky Kesa"? It's pretty funny. I thought that was your real name and I was trying to say it with an Australian accent to see if it worked. :D

- 5 years, 6 months ago

My first name and last name, I adapted into a pseudonym.

For example, Jeremiah could be Jem.

What is your favorite name for a Brilliant member? Brillianti, Brilliantian, Brilliant, ...

Hi Sharky!

How are you so good in maths at the age of 12? Are the books in Australia very good, or have you studied from some other source, please tell.....

- 5 years, 6 months ago

Since I visit India every now and then, I buy math books 3 - 4 years ahead of me so I can study them here because most Australia math books are way too easy.

- 5 years, 6 months ago

Wow.........cool!

- 5 years, 6 months ago

Have you been to any continent that isn't Australasia? If so, how different was the experience?

Staff - 5 years, 6 months ago

Does Australasia mean Australia+Asia!??

- 5 years, 6 months ago

No, Australasia is the continent of Australia.

- 5 years, 6 months ago

I was born in India, so yeah, I have been to a different continent. When I was in Malaysia and in India, I found the population density a bit overwhelming. It was also very tropical so it rained every evening. It was a very educating experience.

- 5 years, 6 months ago

We have a water disruption here man,it surely isn't "raining every evening"

- 5 years, 5 months ago

It was when I visited there.

- 5 years, 5 months ago

@Sharky Kesa What! How did you end up in Australia? Would you mind telling me a story?

- 5 years, 6 months ago

In 2007, my dad got a transfer to Australia. We followed. Not really a story but that's what happened.

- 5 years, 6 months ago

Are you an Indian? (Your name does not suggest it)

- 5 years, 6 months ago

It is a pseudonym

- 5 years, 6 months ago

Bingo.

- 5 years, 6 months ago

@Sharky Kesa Why?

- 5 years, 6 months ago

Cybersafety. Even though I trust this site, Mum says (and I have to agree) to have pseudonyms on the Internet. Hence Sharky Kesa.

- 5 years, 6 months ago

@Sharky Kesa - are you an indian? you don't need to reveal your name, but your nationality please :)

- 5 years, 6 months ago

Yes I am.

- 5 years, 6 months ago

@Sharky Kesa Okay.
