# Spin/Rotation of water

Yesterday, i was teaching physics to the 10th class. After the class a student ask me a question that someone told her that water spins/rotates clockwise while coming through tap. Why that happens? I had never heard of it so i told her to answer after discussing with someone who knew about it. I have searched internet and it says its a myth that in northern hemisphere water rotates counter-clockwise while going throw a hole and opposite in southern hemisphere. the answer to the question i found is it all depends on many factors like shape of object on which water is falling etc. but its not always the case. If someone here have some knowledge about it you can share here please. Thank you!
