Believe it or not the people who work for Brilliant do enjoy solving our problems. Not all of us write the problems, but most of us try to occasionally do some just to keep in touch with what the website feels like. We also often solve them to check to see whether things work, etc...

I don't see what is wrong with the staff answering their own questions. It's kind of nice to put in the answer if you know it already and see it work. There is no competition about how many people can do the problem, so there's no issue with it.
