Sun's force of attraction

I was thinking about it that , earth is under the gravitational field of sun therefore it revolves around it .Now the question which have confused me is , if an astronaut goes in outer space why he is not accelerated due to sun gravitational field ,as it seems that the astronaut is still .Post comments if you have any idea about it.

Well, the distance between Sun and the Astronaut is too large for the gravitational field to cause a genuine acceleration. Moreover, the Astronaut's mass, is not enough, as compared to the Earth's huge mass. On the other hand, even if it does accelerate, it would seem at rest to us, because our acceleration relative to the astronaut is zero. So according to me, the astronaut does accelerate but due to the relative concept, he seems at rest...Hope this helps!:):)
