Symmetric Polynomials

Can anyone please explain to me in a simple manner what symmetric polynomials are and what are the Newton's Identities with respect to these? If you have any good source from where i can study these, please tell me. P.S.- I do not know anything about group theory.!

Symmetric polynomials may be those who follow some definite symmetry in there powers,,,,,,,,, Like the symmetry can be either in A.P., G.P., or other progression or series,,,,,,,,, Shiv Anshu · 4 years ago
