As you have noticed, the spread of points achieved across problems in a level changed this week. In the past, the total points you could achieve in a problem set per level, per week, doubled with each level. We have changed that to a more linear increase across levels. The end result of this is that at the higher levels you can achieve nearly the same amount of points per week as you used to, but the points available to lower levels have nearly doubled.

We did this to make lifetime points less biased to those at high levels. The way leveling works, is that no matter what level you are at, there should be questions that are difficult for you, and people who are pushing themselves week after week, regardless of level, should have a point system that reflects that.

For level 5, the points became \(125, 160, 160, 180, 180, 230, 230, 300\) this week, but it used to be

\(80, 125, ... 300, 500 \) (sorry, I forgot the middle part, but we don't have strange numbers as points such as \(160, 180, 230\) before, (but I don't know about Level 4)

i did, but i've never taken notice of the amount of points we get.
i only vaguely remember that once upon a time there was a problem with 500 points, which i couldn't do :)

What is strange with the points?

\(100, 125, 125, 160, 160, 180, 180, 230\) is what it shows up this week. I have no idea about what it used to be earlier ...

It was lower last week..but this would be good :)
