# Equilibrium #1

**Chemistry**Level 3

The equilibrium constant \(K_{p}\) of the reaction
\[2\text{SO}_{2}(g)\quad +\quad \text{O}_{2}(g) \quad \iff \quad 2\text{SO}_{3}(g)\]
is **900 atm** at **800 K**. A mixture containing \(\text{SO}_{3}\) and \(\text{O}_{2}\) having initial pressure of **1** and **2 atm** respectively is heated at constant volume to equilibrium. Calculate the **sum of the partial pressures of all gases** at 800 K.

Unit of partial pressure is

atm.\(\iff\) denotes reaction in forward as well as backward direction.
