Beware of mirrors

Classical Mechanics Level 4

A point object is kept at rest at point O as shown in the figure. Both the hanging masses are released at \(t=0\). The strings are inextensible and light. Mirrors are attached to both the upper blocks as shown. Find the acceleration of one image with respect to the other image. If your answer is of the form \(\dfrac{A}{B}g\) where A and B are co-prime to each other, then submit your answer as \(A+B\)

  • Take acceleration due to gravity as \(g\).

  • Mass of each block is as shown
