Try to use Extreme principle in finding integer solutions

Number Theory Level pending

Find the number of solutions in positive integers \((x,y,z,w)\) satisfying

\(x^{2}+y^{2}=3(z^{2}+u^{2})\).

I know this problem can be easily done by many people. But I am eagerly expecting a solution by extremal principle
