The United States Federal Reserve System (“the Fed”) is the Central Bank for the United States. Its duties include determining Monetary Policy and regulating banks. "Monetary Policy" refers to controlling the supply of money, with the Fed's goal being to control, i.e. limit, inflation and keep unemployment low.
