# Awesome new game

While surfing the net, I found this awesome new game based on orbital physics. It's called Super Planet Crash. You make your own solar system with the types of celestial bodies given, i.e. super-earths and dwarf stars. Your goal is to get as much points as you can and make sure that the solar system lasts for 500 years. Have a look at the screenshot.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

• Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
• Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
• Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.

Hey guys, check this out! A solar system with a Dwarf Star going on for 500 years! My rank is #285. How better can you get?

Wow.....

How do you make an account and get a rank?

@Finn Hulse, When you end a game, you see a screen like below. Just type in your name & see your rank! capture0

Dude! You beat my highscore by half a million! I got 890 million and beat the game too! But I didn't get a pop-up box asking for my name... :O

@Finn Hulse, @Sharky Kesa, shall I tell you the trick?

Yes, but dude I've also beaten it but I couldn't save it. D:

Yes.

@Finn Hulse, @Sharky Kesa, what I look for is that the Earth is pretty close to the Sun. Then I set a Giant planet just near the end of the habitable zone which is closer to the sun. Then I place a Dwarf Star at the furthest end of the solar system & I press the fast forward button twice (or until it reaches the speed of 128x-that's the maximum) & I wait for the high score!

Remember to tell me your tricks too!

I went to the HD galaxy, and then I put a dwarf star right next to the giant planet already there! The planet went into a really tight orbit. Then, I put a dwarf star right next to the sun, and also pressed fast-forward. :D

You're on top of the world, Ameya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But @Sharky Kesa, @Finn Hulse, do you know that these rankings are updated everyday? So I am not today..... I shall try next time.

Literally the awesomest game in the solar system (get it?). I'm a bit scared of what would happen if a Brown Dwarf was introduced into our solar system. :O

........

BTW, what celestial bodies did you use in it. Right know I have a dwarf star at the barrier and Earth's right next to the sun

I just was messing around. I put 12 earths on the same orbit and lasted for 212 days. :P

Then what happened?

They all crashed together and made this funky pattern. It was boss. Do you want to get on FTW! with me and play a round? :D

@Finn Hulse, what is FTW?

For The Win! is a problem solving game on AoPS.

Coming in 10 minutes

Hey Finn, I am on.

Finn, my chess rating is 1684.

Aw dude we so have to do some internet chess some time. It's midnight for me here. We're like almost exactly the same level. :O

I know. chess.com?

BTW, I have a dwarf star, brown dwarf, giant planet, ice giant, super earth and an earth in perfect harmony.

Holy. Crap. That's epic. But yeah, maybe over the weekend we should totally mess around on a chess website. :D

You guys know each other online or something..... All I do is surf the web and play league of legends.

Holy crud..... I'm noob and started last week. My friend is a silver and even she calls me a noob. Lol, my user name is Akchafa Lorenzo, what's yours?

That is the weirdest username ever. And I've heard some PRETTY weird names. :D

Thx, but what's yours? I could 1v1 you.... And lose.

I just got the game, as in right now.

The game isn't working! I installed it but now its saying Pvp.net Patcher Kernel and its not responding.

Figured it out but its updating 908MB!

I also play BTD5 and BMC.

What's the non abbreviated game name?

Bloons Tower Defense 5 and Bloons Monkey City.

BTD bros forever. What's the least amount of rounds it's taken you to get Supermonkeys? Also, have you played Learn to Fly 2? It's similar in that you can beat it over and over and still be amused.

I usually buy supermonkeys at level 47 cos I don't exactly need them earlier on. I prefer getting dragons breath, bloonjitsu, glaive ricochet, cannon ships, cluster bombs and moab maulers earlier on.

I haven't actually had time to look at BTD 5, but I love 4 and 3. Have you played Learn to Fly 2?

Yep, finished the game easily in all modes. Password for new game is a+b on FTW.

Wait, what's the time there? We need to get the perfect time for both of us

For me it's 11:28 right now.

There is 14 hours in between. OK. How's 8AM in your time (10PM in my time) for you?

Dude, we'll have to do something in your morning time/my night time today. I just got back from my friend's Bar Mitzvah.

Ok.

I'm available right now. Wanna go? Password's 123. :D @Trevor B. you in?

I don't believe it!!! Last question, I was writing 4 and pressing enter but it wouldn't register!!!

You might find out because the planet Sedna (look it up) in our solar system might be also orbiting a brown dwarf in the Oort cloud. This is unlikely though. :D

:O

Going on a tangent, like the planets. (hahahahahhahahahahsdlfjalksdjflaksdjfl)
