# This note has been used to help create the KVPY Exam Preparation wiki

Hello everybody!

I've qualified KVPY Stage-1 and it's stage-2 i.e interview round is on 2nd Feb. I just needed some help from you guys regarding what type of questions may be asked from subjects- Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics.

Example: What happens to the time period of a simple pendulum when a small hole is made at the bottom of the bob filled with water?

Answer: Center Of Gravity shift down due to the leak and thus the effective length increases. Thus, the time period first increases and then goes back to its initial value.

PS: Questions regarding deep understanding of topics are most welcome!

Thanks!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

• Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
• Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
• Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.

Let me make a guess? Is negative mass a hypothetical concept? And yeah, thanks! :D

- 6 years, 6 months ago

yes. And it is used to speculate about other hypothetical concepts such as wormholes.
