# Percentile rank?

Hi Brilliant staff,

What does percentile rank mean?

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

• Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
• Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
• Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.

Yes, i have seen this

Can you tell me the steps for the stats you were speaking about?

"steps for stats"?

Yes, maybe I am doing something else..

I don't understand what do you mean by "steps for stats"? Are you talking about how to reach the stats page?

Yes, go down to problems tried, and tap on a date. From the dropdown there will be outcome coloumn which will show how much your rating has changed. Positive means better and vice-verse

Yes, I see that but I can't see my percentile.

Sorry that I couldn't help @Vinayak Srivastava

Oh, no problem, you are also quite new like me! No sorry!

Maybe what I'd said is true...

I don't think you are in the top 100 (or some other number) percentile

That's why you can't find it @Vinayak Srivastava

@Hamza Anushath, maybe that is the case. Can you see the section?

And I most likely will not be in the top $n$ (whatever $n$ is)

No, because I do not use Brilliant Premium

I just saw this question and realized that I haven't found this word on Brilliant, where is it? Also, I wish to know how levels are categorized in Brilliant because I feel both percentile and levels are somewhat related, although I still don't remember any place where I could see my percentile rank. Thanks for asking this question!

Since you have premium, go to stats and at the bottom you will see something like this

All I see is this:

Current streak: Quizzes finished: Problems solved:

Then all the courses and their meter that shows how much I've done

Then problems tried where I can click on any day to see the problems I tried.

I don't know if there is some problem with my browser, but I can't see any section like that!

Go to the top right section, Click The grey icon with three lines. Go down and select the Stats button. You will be redirected to another tab. Go at the bottom of this page.

Now I even tried it with the View Mobile Site and couldn't see there also.

No, I mean I can't see any percentile section like that.

The percentile rank of a score is the percentage of scores in its frequency distribution that are equal to or lower than it. For example, a test score that is greater than 75% of the scores of people taking the test is said to be at the 75th percentile, where 75 is the percentile rank.

It may mean the same thing in Brilliant too

Thanks!
