# Weekend Wiki Party 3 - Number Theory

Thanks to all of our previous wiki contiributors!

For the last two weeks, we've had a "Weekend Wiki Party" and asked if anyone would be willing to help develop the wikis on Brilliant. We've had great results and have added many pages of content to the wiki. Over 1000 people have benefited from these pages already!

Since there's still some areas of the wiki that need further development, we thought we'd ask again for your help and contributions. This week's theme: NUMBER THEORY.

Our goal this weekend is to fill out and improve some of our Number Theory wikis. With everyone’s help, we can make these pages something that the community is proud of. To participate, feel free to jump in and write something helpful on one of the following (currently empty) pages:

If you'd rather improve an existing page, the following pages would benefit from additional explanation and more examples:

When you have made an edit that you are proud of, please make a comment and let us know!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

• Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
• Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
• Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.

Write a comment or ask a question...: please anytime i type an answer to a question, it always show " THIS FIELD IS REQUIRED" . So what does it means and what should i do about it?

Can you send me a screenshot so that I can understand what is happening? Also let me know if you're using a desktop / mobile / app, and what version / OS you are on. Thanks.

It seems like your entries are not being recorded by the system, which is why it thinks the answer field is empty hence produces the error message of "This field is required."

I have made one on Tribonacci Sequence

- 5 years, 2 months ago

That's great! I will add it to the combinatorics map :)

Staff - 5 years, 2 months ago

I did some work on Gaussian Integers.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

I'll work on one or two tonight!

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Here is a long wiki on Propositional Calculus

- 5 years, 2 months ago

This is similar to mathematical deduction ,isn't it?

- 5 years, 2 months ago

In a way. But note that there are also other derivation systems. E.g, Predicate Logic

Where is my comment ?Has any mod deleted it? Anyways @Calvin Lin I have contributed Converting to diff bases

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Thanks! This is a good start. I like the algorithms given, and I think that it could be supported with a general example.

It could use some proofreading by the community. E.g. In the second example, it should be $1.4_8$ instead of $1.8_8$.

Something useful to add would be to explain how to go from base 2 to base 8 (and vice versa) without going to base 10.

Staff - 5 years, 2 months ago

Actually i m going to add more topics and explanations so it is not yet complete.I am thinking of some shortcuts,BDC, Infinite representations, and may be little negative base explanation. Thanks for spotting typo.

Thanks for your contribution to the wiki.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

You could have edited it as it also had my wiki contribution and okay i m editing and removing report sentence from my comment.

Let's Get Some Knowledge! What is the full form of PCRA.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

How many do you want?

- 5 years, 2 months ago

May I work on topics of my own choice, instead?

- 5 years, 2 months ago

But of course!

Staff - 5 years, 2 months ago

@Agnishom Chattopadhyay Please tell me where the computer science wikis are.... I really do want to contribute

- 5 years, 2 months ago

They are here

By the way, be sure to check these out.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Thanks, I am currently writing something about stacks...

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Great, be sure to tell us when you have written them.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Just finished up on the basics. There is a lot more to add. But I'm pressed for time due to JEE mains. So yeah. view it here

- 5 years, 2 months ago

can you provide a wiki on understanding stack, linked list and queue in c++ please ?

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Thanks for the wiki!

All the best for your JEE :)

- 5 years, 2 months ago

go to this move your mouse over topics to view if it has a wiki or not or you can improve any topic just click on one or you can make a new one.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Computer science wikis are found by clicking the "Wiki" icon in the question given in the Computer Science lesson.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

I'll try to help with some about bases.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Because you know I'm all about that base, about that base, no trouble. X4

Staff - 5 years, 2 months ago

HAHAHAH, nice one. I'll definately contribute to some NT wikis since this is my favorite subject.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Uh, can I edit 2 of those? I know the Gaussian Integer and the Integer Number Bases.

- 5 years, 2 months ago

That's great! Looking forward to seeing your contributions :)

Staff - 5 years, 2 months ago

Of course you can :)

Just go to the corresponding wikis , click on the Edit Wiki option and get started !

Sir , has this note become a sticky note or something ? It's always there in my feed .

It's not that I don't want it to be there , in fact this is a great addition to Brilliant arsenal of features !

I like this sticky note feature :)

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Yes, this is a sticky note for those in Number Theory level 3+, till Monday (or so).

Staff - 5 years, 2 months ago

Sir shouldn't it be "Party" instead of "Part" in the name of this Note ?

Sorry sir , this time I won't be able to help out owing to my JEE Mains exams on the 4th of April . I'll surely help out after that .

- 5 years, 2 months ago

Yup, I updated the title :)

Staff - 5 years, 2 months ago

Thanks sir :)
