Which learners are the courses suitable for?
Program eligibility and course readiness are different. Brilliant for Educators serves eligible K–12 classrooms, but not every course is suitable for every grade.
Brilliant's school-math sequence starts with fractions around grades 4–5 and extends through high school, with advanced material reaching college level. Some lessons address grade 3 standards; that does not mean Brilliant offers a complete grade 3 curriculum. See What math does Brilliant cover? for course names and approximate grade bands.
For coding, data science, and science, choose courses by prerequisite knowledge and readiness rather than a single age cutoff. Preview lessons before assigning them.
How do courses align with standards?
Start with the Common Core math coverage map to find Brilliant lessons for covered standards from grade 3 through high school. The map includes only standards addressed fully or partly by Brilliant; compare it with your full curriculum to identify gaps.
The Standards Alignment section also includes:
- State standards and exams: Texas TEKS, North Carolina math, and New York Regents.
- International curricula: GCSE, A Level, and IB Math Analysis and Approaches.
- Other exams: AP Precalculus, SAT, PSAT, ACT, GRE, and GMAT math.
