JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is an all India common engineering entrance examination conducted for seeking admission to various prestigious engineering colleges including IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology), and many others all over the country. It is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging engineering admission tests.

The Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) is an eligibility test for the JEE-Advanced, which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs. Only the students selected in JEE Mains are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced. Over 150,000 students are selected each year. JEE-Advanced is for admission to IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
